Wedding Cake Cookie Cutter

This Christmas I had the opportunity to make one of the jobs that have been most successful, exciting and challenging for me .. Custom biscuits inspired Dali's work .. Before Christmas I received a commission which ultimately took place on a set of cookies inspired by Dali. It was a gift to a person connected with the world of restaurants which he loved Dali's work .. a challenge! Partly because of the originality of the commission, of course, that started my imagination and creativity, but also largely because the thought that my job was to assess someone with experience in baking and critical eye for art .. made me feel that the bar was even higher .. After several turns and review the work of Dali for inspiration, I decided to make two models, one that of the famous "soft watches" (The Persistence of Memory, 1931) and the other the "Eye of Time", a jewelry that Dalí made in 1949. "The Persistence of Memory" is a small piece (24x33cm), in which Dalí was to represent the anguish caused to man the control of time, its transience and relativity. Apparently, he was inspired to create these watches in the cheese "camembert" as soft, pliable and smooth it, an idea that was presented during a Gala dinner .. On the soft watches Dalí said: "I've always wondered why the clocks are soft, and I say that a watch is hard or soft does not have the slightest importance, what matters is to bring the exact time." . The table is represented Cap de Creus, a landscape that is arid and truly authentic, in fact, is where the film "Light at the End of the World", filmed in 1971 with Yul Brynner and Kirk Douglas. . And as for "the eye of time", I remember many years ago I visited the museum in Figueras and stayed impresionadísima to reach the last part where it presents the jewels created by Dali. I guess until then had never been fully aware of the greatness of Dali's art, until I could see their creations in gold and precious stones. Dali's eye view I remain anonymous, stunned, motionless for several minutes. I remember like it was yesterday. It's a real beauty .. To make the soft watches of course, had no cutters, so I used a round cutter and let the cookie get rid gradually. By bringing so much butter, and bring baked cookies, they began to shed and took the form of watches "soft" melting. Once baked thought that perhaps he might have exaggerated a little effect, but on the whole I am satisfied .. To the eye also had a special cutter, so overlaid twice the cookie cutter in the kitty, (oddly enough, yes, Dalí and Hello Kitty has something to do, hehe) and so got the way he wanted. The key to these cookies was much glitter green (great pleasure to fill all of glitter .. with what I like!) To get the shine of the enamel in the eye .. Absolutely fabulous! Mainly because I've loved this summer, on vacation in Italy, I saw in an art store a sculpture inspired by Dali's clocks, and I imagined it automatically transformed into pie .. is a project that I'd like to do someday, but cookies had not thought, what a good idea!.You have been great, not which of the two models I like .. You must have a lot to enjoy making it? jeje Besos. From very young I always had two passions: baking and lasjoyas.Hoy unióndeambasya I can enjoy the well decorated cake Queuña a whim sweeten our lives can also be a gem. In fact, I like to think that participated giving away "pieces of happiness." If you live in or near Barcelona and would like to give one of my custom cakes .. write me an email or call me and I will be happy to inform you. . ..
In the fall I will again be two flower classes (there are made of sugar rose on a wire, stephanotis, hydrangeas and ivy) - the first Course will be held on 24./25.9. place and is already fully booked for the second on 12./13.11. Registrations are still available .. Some time ago I started with a small series in which I introduce to you some of my cake mold. I started with my herbs and my Ausrollstäben role and today it continues with various cutters. Of PME, there are many different motives, which make in some cases even one extra stamp on flowers or butterflies. Up in the middle of the picture you see a small selection of these cookie cutter. In English the way, plunger ejector hot .. Flowers, which are produced with these cutters can look very different. It is important to be put out for what fondant and whether the flowers are still further. The ivy leaf cutters can be the delicate ivy flower arrangements such as these produce and Gerberaausstecher of PME I used this example in cakes .. For simple flowers or roses to be produced quickly, there are five-leaf cookie cutter (on the big picture right) that are partially matched in size to each other and fit together. When these flowers a little thins at the edges or shapes with a modeling tool, you can achieve even more delicate results. The black cookie in the middle are patchwork cutter, with which one trumps a time and cut the part then gouged into its components. The parts are then assembled so again, that the flower is plastic. A description how to work with these editors it in pie stuff. You can also with the very small parts, which are in the butterfly-pack in making small prints on the fondant and coloring after drying. Very popular and I are also often used as the Funky cutters of FMM that there are now as small letters. There is great guide for the use of the Funkys's way to Youtube. Such letters can make lettering like on these two cakes. With the border-cutters, the above are on the right picture of the letter, you can either make long strips that you put down around the edge of the cake or one forms of it such as crowns on these muffins. At the bottom of the big picture you see besides cookie cutter that I have made of aluminum sheet itself. It lends itself to simple forms that have little or no curves and sharp corners. I have a question about the little patchwork cutters on your summer cake. Do you have the imprinted after that was covered? This works for me .. that is never If you stamp a ready-coated cake, is not that nice, that's right! You get always so dents in the coating, which can no longer wegbekommt :-(. Thanks for the guide to self-production of Cookie Cutter ;-) I need a big polar bear and I will sometimes try with your instructions. Unfortunately you can not buy a big beautiful forms, which are then everything just Teddys .. And something * blush *: Have you the recipe of the raspberry cream cheese filling on your blog? I mean the filling in the information as one is prepared Sahnetauglich cakes for fondant.I've also increased the funky letters and am delighted with the form of letters. Have looked after your recommendation, the Youtube instructions and it works quite well. Just for example, the big I always remain the little lower crossbar hanging in the form and the rest breaks away at "rausschlagen. I used bakers strength and the forms previously dipped in it. Do you have a tip as I found out that in one piece? I need the name of my mum two I for the birthday cake :-). PS am very happy that I'm in holiday ne prepaid card and can read your blog so too, am still very impressed by your creations and graphic explanations. very important in the Funkys is that the thin rolled flowers paste (I guess it always) is pretty dried out before you Ausstich. Then you will need almost no strength and the letters are as good as on its own from the bar. Since autumn 2006 I am working with a hobby of decorating cakes with Rollfondant and have since been some wedding cakes and birthday cakes decorated in American style. I live in the eastern Ruhr area between Dortmund and Hamm.
